Category A1 Rules For Motorcyclists
The rules for Category A1 are designed for those who want to drive small motorcycles. These motorcycles have a maximum cylinder capacity of 35kW. They cannot be directly derived from vehicles that have more than twice their power.
Open category drone operations are divided into three subcategories, namely A1 to A3. You can fly drones with the class C0 or C1 as part of the A1 subcategory (fly over people) until January 2024.
A1
Category A1 is one of three drone categories subject to the control of EASA. It applies to aircrafts up to the maximum takeoff mass (MTOM), which is 25 kilograms. It requires a flight schedule and a flight log along with an identification system for remotes and geoawareness systems. The drone must remain in the view of the pilot. It is forbidden to fly over large groups of people or in areas that are used for commercial, industrial or recreational purposes. The drone should stay within 120 meters.

A1 applicants must have at least 16 years of experience in riding two-wheeled vehicles. They must also complete compulsory basic training and pass a theory test and a practical test. They must also possess an official medical certificate.
A1 license holders are able to drive mopeds that have the capacity of cylinders not more than 1250 cc, and a power-to-weight ratio of no more than 0.01 kW/kg. They can also ride motorcycles that have the maximum capacity of 125 cc as well as trikes and quad bikes as well as quad-bikes.

A2 allows you to operate transitional drones that are not yet CE registered, but have been modified to reduce the risk of collisions with humans. You will only be able to fly these drones in A2 until the end of 2022, after which they'll need to comply with A3 rules.
The A1 and A2 categories will help you develop into a confident and secure motorcyclist. A4
The DOH is currently preparing specific guidelines to be used for category A4. These will be consistent with other procedures and will include specifics such as the number of dressing changes per day. They will be presented to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infections (IATF-EID) and the DOH National Immunization Technical Advisory Group. When they are approved the guidelines will be reviewed and approved by both the DOH National Immunization Technical Advisory Group and the IATF-EID.
Drones bearing the C0 or C1 can fly within 50 meters of those who aren't involved in the incident. This is a low-risk category however, strict security measures are required to reduce incidents. Drones that are not classified in either A1 or A2 must have passed an additional test of theoretical knowledge to be operated in this subcategory.
This test is designed to assess your knowledge of the additional risks associated with flying drones near people. The certificate of competence is issued after passing this test. The operator must maintain a minimum distance of 30 metres between the aircraft and any other persons not involved, or 5 metres when flying in slow-flight mode.
